- two wonderful weeks in shanghai
got back early this morn ard 745am n i miss my bed.. of cuz not forgeting my dear family n everything.. but esp my bed. =p the two weeks had passed by incredibly fast. i've had lots of fun. by far its the most fun n fulfilling overseas trip i've been to.
the weather's there is fantastic. chilling and NO SWEAT at all. all's great til the wind starts to howl then im starting to freeze. cuz its my first trip there, i was pretty much amazed at how modern shanghai is. no more images of backwards china. hm except for some female toilets that dont hav doors and proper locks, n except for SOME rude people who dont know how to queue. other than these hiccups, the shopping has been great. with the exchange rate of SIN 1 : RMB 5, china is a shopping haven. =D
i spent every single last bit of my cash there. on wad? cant keep count really. there's lots of shopping areas man! we didnt really venture those tourst attraction areas cuz firstly the stuff will be more ex than elsewhere. n also cuz his mom n sis has been there before, so they know where's the best place for shopping.
all in all. i've gotten for myself ::
2 jeans. 2 skirts (never thought i'd find skirts during winter season). 2 jackets. *BAGS* - 2 brown adidas bags (for me and yan), 1 black bag, 1 white bag, 1 brown bag, 1 red bag, 1 small brown handbag, another pink handy purse, another brown pencil case, n finally an orange wallet. i feel so guilty. but heck. im satisfied. =) 3 cups (1 is a cow). 1 puma brown shoes. 2 swatch watches - very pretty colours. got some nail art done also. love them. some essential items in orange n pink. whahaa. not forgeting hair clips n ear studs n bracelet n many other knick knacks. n did i mention that the dvds there are damn cheap as well? i saw "Friends" - all 10 seasons of the show in jus 8 dvds n also my fav "Sex and The City" - 7 seasons in 7 dvds.
for my dear family. esp my mom - i bought more bags n some oriental looking wallets for her n the aunts. think she decided to keep all for herself cuz she liked all the colors. no food stuff this time cuz no one eats them anyway. =/ got so much items til packing the luggages became a real challenge. the shopping is greeat. the food is good too (a tad too oily n salty but still yummy all e same). I MISS THE PLACE!

A weekend trip to Hangzhou - 3day2night
there is jus so much to rattle on about the place there. but 2 weeks worth of blogging is seriously no joke. so im not writing. the experience and the memories of the place is both meaningful and beautiful cause i hav baby with me thoughout the whole trip. so for now, i'll jus let the pictures do the talking.
the apartment estate behind is where we were staying during our 2 weeks there. very nice surroundings. and that's our living room. very cluttered with the barang barangs of the 3 ladies. hehe
that's baby n i along HuaiHai Street, admiring the pretty night lights there. and this xmas tree is made up of discs. thus the silvery reflecting look.
here we are having dinner at this vegetarian restaurant. the food served is yummy. n amazingly, none of the dishes are actually green leafy veggies. yum yum yum.
this place is the "Yu Yuan Garden" the buildings there hav got the very oriental feel to it due to its architecture. n its really ironic to see "Starbucks" - the only foreign thing amidst the many chee na stores.
i was buying some hair clip thingy from this cart n the lady was trying to tie it for me. look behind - the never ending flow of people.
we're at the river side of PuXi. the wind is blowing. beautiiful night scenary from here. many river boats and many other lighted stuff across the river. kinda foggy tat night.
taking a leg rest eating some snacks cuz we had a LONG day le! once again, see how colourful the buildings and streets are?
we're at this restaurant called "Tango", having a birthday celebration for baby! n damn suay. i was sick tat day. (see? tats why i wasnt smiling.. )but i've enjoyed it all the same. the restaurant's interesting cuz the waiters there will bring out the freshly barbequed meat from the kitchen and go round from table to table to serve us the food. though it was a buffet, we seldom left our seats cuz food kept coming in!
this is one the street where we walked in the morning. both sides are lined with make-shift stalls selling wares. imitation bags n stuff. interesting variety. we covered alot of foot today once again. distance of about 4-5 MRT stations. by night, we're at the opposite side of the Bund ( i think) where we can see the Oriental Pearl Tower closer.
on the train to Hangzhou. it took about 2 hours, cost RMB48. a low cost means of transportation between cities and towns. enjoying a hot bowl of spicy cup noodle with baby..
we had breakfast at the highest level of Hangzhou Hotel - our home for the next 2 days. its interesting cuz the restaurant revolves.
after makan, we went to Wu Lin Street where it is yet another shopping haven for us! both sides of the streets are lined with boutiques and little shops selling knick knacks. see the watch on my wrist? kinda liked it. but didnt buy it eventually.
after all the walking n looking ard, finally found a nice place to have our lunch. the steamboat's soup base was duck meat soup. very salty! had to add lots of water to dilute the taste.
we reached Xi Hu (West Lake) at about 3 plus pm. everything there seem so peaceful. very serene. love that feeling. boarding the tiny little sampan/boat thingy is no joke. it sways from side to side violently whenever someone comes aboard. thankfully the tent was removed, n we could enjoy the view n breeze.
haha see our faces? the boatman tried to change direction - make a turn i think.. n the whole boat began to rock again. at tat point of time, i was more worried about losing my shopping bags if we should suay suay fall into the lake.
standing at that bridge means there's nothing to protect u from the cold chilling wind, and also from the waters below. no pushing ard!!

us again, in front of some big house that is also part of Xi Hu. the place darkens early. n at night, when we were still strolling around, we saw fireworks that was from across the lake. one word : beautiful.
As our days in Hangzhou are numbered (leaving the next day) we wanted to cover as much as we could. at night, we went to this nightclub after Xi Hu. got a stage performance in the center with people entertaining us with songs and everything. the place is posh. by then, im seh le. both baby n i drank the bailey's with milk. nice.
we went to have our nails painted. here - my nails, zhen's nails n baby's mom's nails.

yummilicious dinner again. FAT!! haha anw the idea is to have a main dish cooked in hot wok n placed in the center. we had chicken. very nice. n also ordered cold dishes and hot dishes to go along with it. always gotta wait a long time for our rice cuz the people there eat rice as their last dish.
after dinner we proceeded to Grand Hyatt to hav some drinks, n also to enjoy the night view from the 87th floor. It is the highest building in Shanghai. the pic is taken in the lobby of Hyatt. huge tree! a night stay there muz hav been dammmn ex.
lotsa celebrations. his bday on the 16th, our anniversaary on the 23rd, xmas eve, xmas.. meaningful holiday for me.

its xmas eve - and we're out on the streets walking n taking photographs. good thing we were on foot cuz the MRT are jam packed like sardines.

went shopping after that. specifically DVD shopping. heh so back to KFC to hav some hot coffee and ease the aching legs n bums. its been a cold long day.
resting at home before we hit the streets again. had to make sure everything's packed first. hav grown so used to the place by now..

- last entry before we leave
the news said its foggy up in china now. flights may be delayed. *prays it wont delay* haha im all excited now. though i still hav like til night time before we leave for the airport, im already jiggling inside. later, my dad, mom n bro gonna send us both off. hehe prob will leave home earlier to fetch bro frm turf city first den we'll make our way there.
meeting baby at causeway point to do some last min shopping of e essentials. change more money. return/borrow books. yups. den its back here to stuff everything into e bag once again.
dad prepared a great dinner jus now. we had sambal tomato prawns with onions. wahaha fresh prawns! n plus mom's bak kut teh. *yummy* another dish of omelette. we are all full! haha

no more pics to upload. not as yet anw. these few days have been busy - packing, unpacking and trying clothes. n no doubt, its been fun so far. except the sneezing part when things get to furry. i brought out the whole stack of winter clothes, finding half of those unsuitable. went to borrow more clothings from yan today. haha baby spent 3 hours there waiting fer me while yan was helping me pick the clothings. tried on every single piece..

den its back to his house to pack clothings fer him now. been a day of running up n down. tired. dad changed monnies fer me le. wahah plus some of mom gave. wahaha im in fer some serious shopping!
hm noe of anyone who wanna find a job to kill time during dec? will be working in tuas though.. lalala n another side note.. pple from the music sch called me today. my appointment as a music teacher is confirmed! yay! starting date is jan i think. gonna hav some juggling btw work n sch to do i suppose.
now at baby's house. jus finished some last min packing. n i'll be rounding everything off with an episode of charmed then we slp. 0039 already.
7th dec
1. waking up late.. to bright glorious sunlight.
2. blasting my favourite songs on speakers, sharing them with my neighbours. wahaha
3. absolutely no one at home to disturb my peace *hint: brother!*
4. re-pack my room, beautify it, do farnie things to it
5. reading books with a hot cup of milo/coffee/boh tea within reach.
6. dreaming of hot sunny days - great for swim n tan
7. cooking spaghetti for my family n baby... still e only edible stuff i know how to cook
8. running to my window when baby jus left e house, hoping to catch another glimpse of him. n smiling when i see he's already there waiting to wave another goodbye.
9. shower him with lots of tlc - hugs, muacks, kisses.

phew im in e midst of packing now. not much of a progress. dunnoe wad to bring! messy messy. baby's mom n sis are already in shanghai. we'll join them this sunday. dad's gonna fetch us to e airport. thank goodness for that! gonna bring up 2 luggages. n prob come back in 3? haha excited excited. heard its down to 1degC already. could drop even furthur. sure dont wanna freeze there. so im gonna bring all my warm clothings. plus some others also - courtesy of yan. im looking forward to 2 weeks of shopping n touring n shopping n eating n growing into a fat pig!

- wedding bells
saturday was baby's cousin's (the bride) wedding.. n haha i was there too to enjoy the evening. reached the country club at ard 7? ahh! the earlier part of e day was madness. cuz got entirely no idea wad to wear! clothes were thrown all over my room by the time baby came. heh still it was fun.
okay. this photo was taken before the wedding started. we were in this changing room where the ladies are changing into their kebayas. so we made full use of the time there n took photos lo!
though it stated that the wedding starts at 730 sharp, the first dish finally came at 830 after all e waiting for the guests to arrive *haha hungry* the food was great. music okay too. love songs. haha ah then! some pic taking here n there.. drank alittle beer and brandy too. haha baby's face turned red from those n started stripping..... his tie only la. damn! haha
after the wedding, when the guests hav all almost left the place... the party had only began. the waiters started removing the tables from the dancing floor.. n the DJ started playing "hippier" music.. and baby's cousins and uncles n aunties n his grandma! all headed over to the dance floor.. kinda like a family thing for them tat after every event.. they will dance. its farnie to sit out.. and as the saying goes "if u cant beat them, join them" whahah wad i can say is... FUN! at suitable song tempos, i was learning the 'cha cha' from baby. haha not bad eh tat monkey =] there's one couple (baby's aunt n her hubby) doing some serious ballroom dancing. simply elegant. i wanna learn too!
and here we are, the ladies. in an almost all black ensemble. this pic is taken after all e dancing. we all ended close to 1am. which was pretty early for them.. wah imagine their longest? yup its fun. n cuz i wasnt really prepared to dance, i was in heels. killer. worst than prom that time.
all e gers in e pic (except me of cuz) are baby's cousins. big age range huh. the youngest is about 8 and all the way up to 26. n just before we leave, the little cousins removed all the roses from the flower arrangement. haha n all of us got a few back home. but not before posing for another pic.

EXAMs over! not feeling exceptionally estastic though. prob it hadnt sunk in yet, prob not. okay since im so free now.. gonna do some major changes to how my desktop look like.. i still want to catch my movies. haven got chance to do yet. meeting yan (n ch?) next week.
needed to replenish my sleep. woke up only at 2 plus. bro's not in now. he started work at this cd shop. he's bored there, im bored here *sigh* no one for me to disturb.. was so free jus now i got time to put together some more pics of yan n i at her house the other day..

- thunder storms
okay weather nowadays can be stormy. its great if im at home snoozing, enjoying the howling wind, wrapped warmly under the thick blanket, laughing at the people out there without umbrella *evil laughs* n VERY BAD!! if im on my way somewhere, esp to school!! anw im not gonna crap about weathers n such. im just predicting how my next 2 days will be like - stormy.
its my second time waking up at 6am fer exams. its not so bad if i had a nice, peaceful, short but sweet and rejuvenating sleep. but no! in my short span of 4 hrs, i spent 2 hrs tossing from left to right n then the other way round. and the next hour, waking every up very few mins to check the time: 450am. blardy shit. n when "up there" is finally tired, and ready fer a good shiok snooze.....

its been a long long day yesterdae... it started at 6am when i had to wake up fer the geog paper. made it thru the questions (which were pretty similar to last yr's questions.. lazy bum bums) good thing actually but still dreadful. yup den went over to dear's place fer lunch. slacked awhile den accompanied him to drive his sis to Tanglin Club where she's having her sec 4 graduaion party. going there is no prob but we've abit prob finding our way back to je. heh still learning still learning. bought dinner back by 8pm and left there again to go home ard 10pm. gotta quickly bathe, change n pack my stuff, call mama all tat. n tadah! back to je again by 12midnight. its one whole long day of travelling up n down n up n down.
i feel sick. sob sob. sniffy nose. on the bright side. im left with 3 papers n they'll all be gone by wed! one day one paper. kinda sucky man. all 9am papers somemore. gonna look like a zombie. so tis is the last saturday spent studying. thats the only thing tats helping me move. forward....
Tuesday, November 23
- the incredibles
today was my first paper.. bleh. stats!!! it was WAH! so many bloody questions in 2 hours. a total of 5 main questions and about 20 sub questions all in all. it was mad. anw its over. pretty glad stats came first. now tat its out of the way. its back to focus on others.
baby was very nice yesterdae. heh offered to come by in the noon to accomp me before i leave home fer exams which is at 5pm. all the time when i was doing some last min reading, he was there resting on my bed, his presence giving me a "im here for you honey" feeling. stomach was woggly n rumbling n butterflish. argh exams!! baby waited fer me til exams ended den we went fer spaghettis.
its not exactly the best way to celebrate our 23rd month with stats filling up almost the whole of the day.. but guess its the company tat matters most. =] went to watch "incredibles" after makan.. heh its a great cartoon! animations really good! i like the baby kiddo the most! the hair damn cute!!!
went to put the separate photos into one now. wahah looks neater ya? i noe i shdnt be doing all these now. *exams looming in 2 days time* sigh but i neeeeed to do something non-NUS now before i plunge into the deep shit of exam preparation. again.

oh my god. sylvester is in?! his singing sucks!!!
no doubt he's in NOT becuz of his "great" singing. but the mindless female species going gaga over his good (*AHEM*) looks. yeah his fan base. oh so deaf.
he screwed up last night's performance with the terrible choice pieces. the songs arent terrible. his singing is. mayb im overly critical. but pur-leasseee. its a singing competiton! u dont win a contest jus by standing there, smile n look good. (GAG!)
olinda's singing is pretty good (much better than the black cat anw).. prob missing that "idol" factor which sylverster obviously ozz from every single pore of his. i mean - he appeals to the young (gullible) school girls. tats probably how he got to this far. while olinda.. cant really gauge which group she's targeting.. leaves people wondering.
not looking forward to the finals at all. cuz the singing part wont be determining who wins anymore. now its jus based on popularity vote. so if sylvester wins, you now why.
